With over 300 shops, a 13 screen multiplex cinema, 13,000 parking spaces and a new events centre Bluewater is a major retail and leisure destination set in a 240 acre site just off the M25 in Kent.
Since opening in 1999 visitor numbers have grown to 28 million a year, and in anticipation of the opening of Glow, Bluewater’s events centre, the Bluewater management team decided it was time to review the wayfinding throughout the site.
Together with AIG, Lacock Gullam undertook a full audit, proposed a strategy and prepared fully costed product design proposals for the phased upgrading of the wayfinding and signage components.
Following this Lacock Gullam led the production design phases, detailing all products, creating artwork and assisting Bluewater with procurement and implementation of over 1800 sign components across the estate.
