Lacock Gullam worked with AIG and the UK Border Agency to develop information and products to raise the visibility of the border control process at UK ports and airports across the UK.
The project was commissioned to improve the inconsistent and poor perception of UK border control within the majority of ports at a time of increasing security.
The project sought to define the UK Border Agency’s area of authority within the Ports and raise awareness of the Agency’s presence. Underlying this, the project also sought to deliver benefits to the user through better provision of information improving both perceptions and efficiency of the passport control.
The prototype used a flexible system of Immigration Officer desks, information totems, landing card desks and overhead gantries to enhance user experience and influence behaviour whilst passing through UK border control.
